I can't begin to tell you how excited I am about our Fall Revival with Ed Newton. I do pray you have September 14-17 on your calendar. Please church family, don't let anything interfere with our hearing from God. He is still God of this city and oh how we need a fresh touch from heaven.
Ed Newton has been described by some as "our denomination's finest young evangelist." Ed has an encouraging passion and zeal. He is an incredible communicator and he has the ability to connect with his audience... whatever their age. I can't wait to hear what the Lord wants to say to me. I trust that is your desire.
During our four days of revival we are going to be blessed with some awesome music as well. Bro. Randy has lined up the following to aid in our worship time: Sunday: Willowbrook Baptist Church of Huntsville. Monday: 3:16 Choir from our area churches. Tuesday: Northbrook Baptist from Cullman. Wednesday: Flint River Baptist of Meridianville. These churches will be represented by choirs, praise teams, and quartets. It is sure to be a blessing.
As I have before, I'm asking all of us to pray, confess, invited, give, and come. It is sure to be a great four days and we long for God to do a work in our church and city.
Fireproof - is a movie to be released September 26, 2008. This movie, starring Kirk Cameron, has been produced by the Sherwood Baptist Church in Georgia (the same church that produced Flywheel and Facing the Giants). This particular movie deals with the subject of marriage and the home. It's content needs to be seen and applied by us all.
It is obvious in our city and across our land that the family and home is under great attack. My prayer, along with that of thousands of others, is that God would use Fireproof to "turn the tide" in many marriages.
Finally, if you are not currently involved in Bible Study/Sunday School, I encourage you to find your class. We have some great teachers and many growing classes... get plugged into one of them this Sunday at 9:00 a.m.
