Children's Ministries

Dianne Thomas, Director

Hey Kids,

Can you believe that it's November already? I'm sure you are looking forward to your Thanksgiving break. Speaking of Thanksgiving... don't forget about "Thankful Night" at Awana on November 19. Be thinking about all of the things you are thankful for and write a poem or draw a picture.

We have another exciting night in Awana coming up this month. On November 12 we will have our packing party for Operation Christmas Child. Did you know that the shoeboxes are delivered to more than 90 countries? How exciting that we can have a small part in that effort. We need lots of items to put in the boxes so be bringing those as soon as possible.

Also, November is our annual Missions Conference. On Sunday, November 2 you will have the opportunity to meet some missionaries and talk to them personally. Be sure to go by the fellowship hall and see the different booths that will be set up. Who knows? One of you might want to be a missionary when you grow up! (Who knows? God knows!)

We are having a great time working on our Christmas musical. We will present it on December 21 at 6:00 p.m. It's not too late to join us! We meet on Sunday nights during the worship service.

Remember...God loves you and so do I!!!

Serving Him,

Ms. Dianne
P.S. For every person who brings a visitor to AWANA during the month of November, you and your friend will receive a coupon for a free frosty at Wendy's.

Awana 2008

Hey Clubbers!

Boys and Girls (3 yrs - 6th grade), it the most awesome time of the year... no, not school! It is time to register for AWANA! On Wednesday, August 6, we will have AWANA registration in the Fellowship Hall. The next week, August 13, will start our regular club nights.

A little AWANA History: Awana (an acronym for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, from 2 Timothy 2:15), is an international evangelical nonprofit organization founded in 1950, headquartered in Streamwood, Illinois. The organization supplies local churches with weekly clubs, programs and Bible training for students. The goal of Awana is that these students would come to know, love and serve Jesus Christ as Lord.

So, whether you are in Cubbies, Sparks, or Truth & Training get ready for an exciting year in AWANA!
