Book Review:

The Creative Home Organizer

Being a wife, mother, full-time employee, and participating in church activities make me sometimes feel challenged and overwhelmed. Our home is a whirlwind in the mornings trying to get everyone dressed, fed, out the door and on the way to work and school. There is always laundry to wash, floors to clean, and meals to prepare so I'm always searching for tips to save time, money, and effort.

The Agape Library has available "The Creative Home Organizer." Author, Emilie Barnes, offers tips and ideas for Home Organization, food preparation, housecleaning, children and more. Ever have a problem with your family arriving late for meals? Ring a bell to give a two-minute warning. They can finish whatever they are doing and arrive on time (page 38). We do this at mealtime in our home and my daughters take turns ringing the bell (they love it). Another helpful hint is the five-minute pickup. Pick up and dust in each room for five minutes. Time yourself with a kitchen timer (Page 24). Emilie also gives us things to ponder such as, "it's not what you are that holds you back; it's what you think you are not" and "it is not what you get that makes you successful; it is what you are continuing to do with what you've got."

There are several more sayings to ponder and many more tips that you might find helpful... just visit the library and CHECK IT OUT!
