Max Croft is a native of North Alabama. He and his wife, Mary Ella, both graduated from Albertville High School and were married prior to graduating from the University of Alabama. They have two children and three grandsons.

Max completed a masters degree from Georgia Tech and a Ph.D in Industrial Engineering and Management from Oklahoma State University. After retiring from a career with NASA as a manager in information systems, he graduated from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a masters degree in missiology. Immediately following graduation, he went to work as a state missionary for the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions. He served ten years with the State Board beginning as an associate in the Office of Evangelism and then being selected as director of the Office of Discipleship and Family Ministries. His primary ministries included discipleship, prayer ministry, and deacon ministry. 

Max and Mary Ella were co-owners of a Christian boo kstore in Huntsville. Mary Ella has used her experience from the bookstore in her current ministry in the library at Agape.

One passion for Max is missions, both local and global. He has served as a volunteer missionary and coordinator of mission activities in many locations in the U.S. and various foreign countries. He also likes to teach, and he and Mary Ella coordinate the Connections prayer ministry for our church.
