Agape Baptist Church exists to Magnify God as we seek to bring people to faith in Jesus Christ and Membership in His church; to develop them in obedient Maturity as we equip them for theirMinistry in the church and their Mission in the world.

Agape (a.ga.pay) is the Greek word for God's divine love. This word expresses the selfless love of God for his people. It is an unconditional love for others, love that accepts everyone for who they are. This is the same love that God expressed for us through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 13 describes agape love; "Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things. Love never fails."

Brief History:   Agape is still a relatively new church.  We celebrated out 10 year anniversary recently (September 09), and we pray that God will continue to give us wisdom as Agape heads into the next 15, 20, 25, ... years.  Agape started with a very small group of 8 core couples who saw a need to have a mission minded church in Scottsboro.  Since our inception, Agape has had 4 locations in which we are currently located in our permanent residence located on Hwy 72 @ Dick Hayes Road.  God has definitely blessed Agape and it is our goal in turn to Bless our Lord by sharing His Love Locally, Regionally and Globally.
